A complete absence from any kind of performance, recording or even making music at home built up something of a mental (and physical given the lack of any gear, long since sold or given away) barrier to returning to something that was once such a big part of life. Over the course of 3 days locked away alone with a selection of scrounged and borrowed equipment, Callum managed to conjure up the 3 tracks that make this new release.

Using contact mics, pedals, simple guitar melodies, field recordings, wind instruments and bowed bass guitar drones, ‘Current Current Current’ is an album of gentle, weaving patterns creating a sense of journey through rich textures and tonal layering.

Having played with many of the artists on the label during its original run in outfits such as River Slaughter, Swaggerjack and Black Vomit, along with the darker more beat driven electronic solo output of Maersk, this latest Yes Blythe release is Callum finding his feet once again and hopefully venturing out into more collaborations in the future.

https://sacredtapes.bandcamp.com/album/sac-045-current-current-current
