Initially planned as something that would resemble the Abruptum demos and early Unholy, it did not take long for the material to evolve into something that was eventually released on the 2001 demo “In an Excruciating Way…” on tape limited to 100 copies.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn January 2002, Wormphlegm played as the opener for \u003cb\u003eThe Candles Burning Blue\u003c\/b\u003e and \u003cb\u003eSkepticism \u003c\/b\u003ein Turku, with \u003cb\u003eA Rot-Yearner\u003c\/b\u003e as session bass player \/ vocalist.
