Manifold hands twisting and turning by tick of the eternal ennui clock, does the Swedish black metal entity prophesied by bleakest oracles as Vildbrand come bearing twin faces of beginnings and endings, mournful moments caught forever in the fulminations of primordial chaos.
Existing in some formless state, or another, since the age of 2019 Vildbrand is the mysterious black metal magick mastery of an unknown and enigmatic Swedish sorcerer, who has spent these past four years on penning Vildbrand’s debut incantation. Whilst little is known about this entity, its unmistakable ability to craft chilling black mournful metal, steeped with bifronic mythology, cannot be denied, all the more so with its debut incantation unchained in the early winter months of 2023, I Takt Med Vägguret.

Entranced by the ever draping mysticism of dusk and the ever blazing glory of dawn, I Takt Med Vägguret is a melancholic black metal incantation standing at both the beginning and end of life, existence and nonexistence made as one by sonic sorcery made sorrow. Alternating between spells that focus on swaggering doom inflected power chord crawls and frostbitten tremolo blast beat blizzards, I Takt Med Vägguret is an incantation that utilises contrast to most potent effect, never once allowing for a sorcerous section to out stay its welcome or for tedium to poison the mind of the acolyte experiencing it. Dripping with melancholic ichor, wrought with glacial fury
and steeped with melodicism mature, Vildbrand has penned a powerful incantation for its debut; one that has broken through the faceless mirrors and turned the twin faces of Janus from his doldrums of eternity, tears of passages long lost stained across the immortality of time impermeable.
