With T.W.I.S.G.T.W.M.I.D.L.H., Mystifier delivered not only their shortest but also their most experimental full-length album. Known for his vocal versatility, Asmodeus brought a theatrical edge to the band's sound, which became a defining element of this release. The album was initially released in 1996 via Osmose Productions. Seventeen years later, the first vinyl edition appeared through a collaboration between Nuclear War Now! Productions, Iron Bonehead Productions, and Ordo MCM. The opening track, “Give the Human Devil His Due,” was also featured on the Gummo soundtrack in 1997. While die-hard fans may have been initially surprised by Mystifier’s artistic evolution, the lyrical themes took a more mature direction compared to earlier works like Wicca, exploring concepts of self-transcendence and realms beyond the physical world—distinct from the raw, aggressive sounds associated with bands like Sarcófago or Blasphemy. Despite its departure from traditional underground metal conventions, this unique album deserves recognition for its bold creativity and lasting impact.
