"Likely the best work by W.W’s Dungeon Synth/Drone/Neo Folk project “Gargoyle”, although it does not fully fit into those categories and this be its power.

This demo in retrospect was a glimpse into future projects such as Lighting Under Camouflage and Vvlgvs, that feature a more developed version of Watt’s unique take on folk(ish) music blended with unexpected influences, styles and subject matter--whist always being absolute slow burning earworms (the bloke can write a hook).

“The Fools” feels like a milestone of development in the prolific and varied ark of W.W’s musical output, the true work of an outsider genius…

And for this reason, Circle of Solstice are very pleased the be reissuing the tape for all who may have missed it first time around."
