Reborn from the wicked wheel of eternity since the age of 2020, VENYMYSGOURVLEYDH is the Cornish raw black masterwork of the ever prolific Nostalggia (Ynkleudherhenavogyon, Voids of Nirvana & Starfire Funeral), whom has been one of the United Kingdom’s most potent black metal sorcerers in recent years. VENYMYSGOURVLEYDH has always written a mythology of its own making, utilising infectious black miseries stained with experimental ambient synth work and spell composition, here using its feral illusions upon the first half of the split incantation. Furious fell blast beats, virtuosic tremolo mind possession, symphonic sun synth passages, rasping vocal choral contrast, bombastic bass heavy production and an enigmatic folklore thematic tyranny all make for a truly riveting experience that acolytes would be foolish to miss.
Brought onto this plane of existence only since the age of 2022, COLLIER D’OMBRE is the raw symphonic black metal creation of Oregon veteran Necklace of Shadow (Ash Borer, Excarnated Entity & ex-Triumvir Foul) and the mysterious Root of Ichor, whose self-titled debut presented an eldritch framework of synth laden black wonder woe. Here COLLIER D’OMBRE provide the second half of this incantation, taking their previous outing and refining their sound by the rays of the sun, honing their sacrificial stone swords by barbarity of the eternal war. Haunting synth supremacy, battering machine persecution, incinerating tremolo inception, hateful vocal croaks, atmospheric augur composition and a perfectly balanced production equal in dissonance as it is of clarity, all provide for a superb companion to VENYMYSGOURVLEYDH’s half of this split incarnation, as well as a ravenous end to that which was begun in pain of magnificent rebirth.
